Regional Technical Agencies (RTAs)
Various reputed government medical education institutions are collaborating with the National Technical Agency (NDDTC, AIIMS) as Regional Technical Agencies for this survey. The 36 states/UTs have been grouped into eleven geographical zones and one Government Medical Institute has been assigned the responsibility of leading the technical aspects of the survey as the Regional Technical Agency.
Roles and Responsibilities of Regional Technical Agencies
The RTAs will be responsible for:
- Supervising / undertaking the technical / scientific aspects of implementation of survey in the assigned region e.g. obtaining ethical approvals, translation of study instruments in local languages, etc.
- Participating in the state-level advocacy and sensitization meetings as technical experts
- Assisting NDDTC in identifying master trainers for conducting survey trainings at the state level.
- Facilitating trainings for field staff of the survey in the assigned region in coordination with the State Implementation Agencies (SIAs)
- Working closely with the SIAs of the assigned region for timely completion of survey activities
- Supervising data collection in assigned regions and ensuring high quality of data.
- Revalidation of HHS survey data in assigned states
- Leading conceptualization, planning, designing, implementation and analysis of some of the focused thematic studies being conducted as part of the National Survey
- Preparing progress reports and submitting them to NDDTC, AIIMS
